I'm a qualified Naturopath practitioner, based in Melbourne, Australia.
Health to me isn't just functioning and going through the motions of life. It's being able to face the challenges that we're confronted with, riding the ups and downs, being able to contribute to our community and families, while working positively and profoundly.. and yes, why the hell not - look good doing it!
I believe that by using preventative medicine (Which in my opinion is the best kind of medicine) eating well, sleeping well, supporting the body of any nutritional deficiencies and using the synergistic power of herbal medicine and focusing on a positive mindset, you can put yourself on the right track to a healthier and more fabulous you.
I like to take a holistic approach.
I know, I know the buzz word of the year.
But what does holistic mean?
Holistic is looking at the whole, we are more than just the sum of our parts rather uniquely put together ecosystem working together that can then go on to affect our physical, mental, psychological and even spiritual health.

True that! New studies are coming out all the time highlighting the connection between our mental health, weight gain, energy levels, autoimmune conditions.. And the list goes on. The fact is, without a proper functioning digestive system, you are unable to absorb the nutrients needed to fuel your body to feel and look your best.

Sometimes through the haze of frustration and tiredness, it's hard to see or even know what is causing you to feel so flat. Is it diet and lifestyle problems? It's funny how as women, we push through all the PMS and menstrual irregularities and pain and just think it's "normal". Many things affect our hormonal balance, which can then impact the severity of our moods and our ability to conceive, these things are all connected and affected. Our body is an intrinsic ecosystem, so if the gut health or detox pathways aren't functioning at their best then how can we expect our hormones to run and work efficiently? Sometimes it's simple nutrient deficiencies. Sometimes it's more.
Although I'm not an advocate of "skinny" but encourage people on loving themselves and working towards being strong and healthy. Perhaps you can't seem to lose the weight no matter what you do. Perhaps all of that conflicting advice on what to eat, what not to eat is all doing somersaults in your head leaving you deflated and heading straight to the cupboard for that snickers bar because. What's the point? The point is, when you feel great, you can contribute to your family and community in a much more positive way.
